Azimuth Announcement

Azimuth Announces Changes in Ownership – Mike Jones becomes our ‘Legacy President’

Mike Jones has created a transition plan towards future retirement, and after 30 years, is officially retiring as a shareholder and Partner at Azimuth. Mike is stepping down as President, however he will continue to work as a key member of our team on a variety of projects through 2025 and beyond.

A message from Mike Jones:

I am proud to be one of Azimuth’s original founding owners, having started the firm in 1995 out of a farmhouse office in Barrie. The market has changed dramatically since that time, but still requires educated, advanced experts to navigate the environmental consulting industry to provide our clients with continued high-quality service. Transitional planning was initiated in 2012 when future successors were brought on board, and today, I’m succeeded by six partners of the firm. Azimuth’s Board of Directors includes Matt Stuart (Natural Heritage), Sara Murphy (Natural Heritage), Colin Ross (Hydrogeology) and Jackie Coughlin (Servicing and Environmental Engineering). In 2023 the Board welcomed Dan Stuart, (Ecology Lead), along with Lorna Salgado, (Office Manager) as shareholders. These individuals will lead this customer-focused company with integrity, innovation and excellence into what I know will be a successful future for all of us here at Azimuth.

Over the last 30 years, Azimuth has grown into a diverse company that can address any environmental challenge. I greatly appreciate my clients that have also become trusted friends, and the strong relations we have developed over the years. I look forward to my ongoing role with Azimuth along with my colleagues in the environmental consulting industry, as Azimuth’s Legacy President. I’ll continue to work with clients on projects as I always have, in cooperation with the Board of Directors and partners, along with staff while perhaps enjoying an extra week or two of well-earned vacation time in 2025!

Thank you for a wonderful 30 years, and to many more,

Sincerely,
Mike
